42nd Street Photo Reviews the Pentax Optio WG-1
Pentax pushed out the Optio WG-1 in February 2011 which was 14.0 megapixel multi protection GPS compact camera. This camera features all weather shooting and is waterproof up to 10 meters, 100 kg crushproof, 1.5 m shockproof and -10 degrees Celsius coldproof. There is a LED light on the front lens and it comes equipped with a GPS module that helps track the locations of your photos.
When it comes to the actual images, the WG-1 won’t disappoint. The camera employs the 14.0 effective megepixels CCD image sensor, 5x optical zoom lens and 2.7-inch 230,000 dots high-brightness LCD screen. It also records 30 fps 16:9 HDTV video clips. The camera also has a Digital Microscope mode for capturing macro images.
The WG-1 only weighs 5.9 ounces fully loaded with a battery pack and memory card. Dimensions of the camera are 4.5 × 2.3 × 1.1 inches. The camera come in black or purple.
