The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 was the much anticipated successor to the LX3. The LX3 proved very popular with veteran photographers because of its fast lens and wide range of manual shooting modes. The new LX5 is looking to build on that success. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 delivers an excellent all-around shooting experience. The changes in the LX5 include a new sensor, larger zoom range, improved noise reduction, and a better video codec. The camera incorporates a wide angle f/2.0 aperture Leica DC Vario- Summicron lens with 3.8x wide-angle optical zoom (equivalent to 24mm – 90mm on a 35mm film camera) and the MEGA O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer) system.
The LX5 also boasts a 3.0-inch LCD screen, Face Recognition / Detection, 720 high definition video capture and and the new Venus Engine FHD image processor. The LUMIX DMC-LX5 comes in either black or white colors and it’s slightly larger than the LX3 in width and depth. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 delivers an excellent full featured digital camera that is capable of shooting some very nice photos.
