42nd Street Photo Reviews The Canon EOS-60D

Canon EOS-60DThe Canon EOS-60D is most definitely the Rebel T2i’s big brother, rather than the successor to the 50D. This is a completely different camera. If you placed the Rebel T2i, the 60D, and the 7D side by side, you’d notice that the 60D is exactly halfway between the size of the other two models. The 60D is also Canon’s first DSLR camera to feature a flip-out LCD screen, allowing you to view shots from different angles. With the new EOS-60D DSLR, Canon
gives the photo enthusiast a powerful tool fostering creativity, with better image quality, more advanced features and automatic and in-camera technologies for ease-of-use.

The new Multi-control Dial enables users to conveniently operate menus and enter settings with a simple touch. The Canon EOS-60D also features an EOS first: A Vari-angle 3.0-inch Clear View LCD (1,040,000 dots) monitor for easy low- or high-angle viewing. An improved viewfinder, a number of new in-camera creative options and filters, plus HDMI output for viewing images on an HDTV all make the EOS 60D invaluable for the evolving photographer. With continuously curved surfaces, user-friendliness and exuding solidity and refinement, the EOS 60D is true digital camera.

Other Features:

  • 18-megapixel Canon APS-C CMOS sensor
  • 9-point cross type Autofocus system as seen in the 40D and 50D

The Canon EOS-60D is fast, shoots gorgeous still images and video, and adds tons of options to make your video look professional, but those looking for ease of use may be deterred by the lack of continuous autofocus during video recording.
