42nd Street Photo recommends the Surefire E1L-HA-WH Outdoorsman LED Flashlight

The E1L Outdoorsman is an ultra compact, lightweight and rugged LED flashlight. It’s fitted with a three watt LED module and is powered by a single 3V lithium battery. This flashlight is a good mix of what a general purpose light would be and also gives the benefit of a tactical light.Durable to begin with thanks to it’s anodized aluminum frame and body, the LED flashlight head increases the durability of the flashlight due to no filament present to break in the bulb assembly. It’s brightness is sufficient to be used for a wide variety of tasks – ranging from general camp lighting to trail use to self defense/tactical use. For tactical purposes, the LED bulb performs far better, providing anywhere from 2x to 4x the light (depending on variant) than the E1 incandescent or the 3P single battery incandescent SureFire flashlights. It’s slightly bluer light output tint also makes the target’s eyes react harsher and gives you slightly more time tactically to shift positions and deal with the situation. This tactical level beam is fine-tuned by state of the art digital current regulation circuitry that matches the LEDs current requirements to the batteries’ output level to achieve a consistent level of light for the usable life of the batteries.
